The short version: OllieChat has no accounts, no ads, and no tracking. Your
conversations live in your own browser — WeirdMM never stores them. The one thing that
leaves your device is the message itself, which gets forwarded to an AI provider so it can write a reply.
Don't paste anything you wouldn't share with a third-party AI service.
1 What stays on your device
Your conversations, chosen model, system prompt, custom tools and theme are saved in your browser's
localStorage — on your machine, not on a server. They aren't sent to WeirdMM for storage,
and they don't sync between devices. You can wipe them any time: delete a chat, use “Clear”, or clear
this site's data in your browser.
2 What leaves your device
Your messages. When you send one, it goes to OllieChat's server, which forwards it to
a third-party AI model provider so a reply can be generated. That provider processes it
under its own privacy terms, which we don't control.
Images you attach are sent to the AI provider the same way, for the model to read.
Web (search & reading). With “Web” on, your search queries go to
DuckDuckGo, and Ollie can also open specific web pages (ones you name, or ones
it finds) to read them. Both run through our server, which relays the request to those sites.
Custom tools. Any tool you write runs in your browser. If your tool calls an
outside service, whatever you send it goes to that service — that part is up to you.
3 What we don't do
No accounts, logins or passwords.
We never sell or rent your data, and we don't run our own analytics or tracking pixels.
We do show ads (Google AdSense), which set their own cookies — see “Advertising & cookies” below.
The shared API key is kept on the server — it is never exposed to your browser.
4 Third parties
To make OllieChat work, your browser or our server talks to a few outside services, which may receive
your IP address and basic request details:
The AI model provider — to generate replies (receives your messages/images).
Google AdSense — serves the ads that keep OllieChat free; may set cookies and receive
your IP (see “Advertising & cookies” below).
DuckDuckGo — only when you use web search.
Content delivery networks (Google Fonts and jsDelivr) — your browser loads fonts and
code libraries from them, so they see your IP.
Our hosting/CDN provider — may log IP addresses and request metadata briefly for
security and reliability.
5 Advertising & cookies
OllieChat shows ads through Google AdSense so it can stay free. Because of that:
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to
OllieChat and other websites.
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your
visits to this and/or other sites on the internet.
We don't keep a copy of your chats — they exist only in your browser until you delete them. Third-party
services keep what they receive according to their own policies. Everything travels over HTTPS. Because
this is a free, shared service, please don't send confidential, medical, financial or otherwise sensitive
information.
7 Children
OllieChat isn't intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
8 Changes
If this policy changes, the “last updated” date above changes with it. Continuing to use OllieChat means
you're okay with the current version.
